Stephanie Buxhoeveden
Stephanie Buxhoeveden, PhD, MSCN, MSN, FNP-BC, is the Chief Scientific Officer for the Accelerated Cure Project.
Stephanie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) at the age of 25. She was in graduate school and working as a neurosurgical ICU nurse at the time. She realized then that she could use her experience as a person living with MS to positively impact the MS community. She completed her Master’s degree in the Science of Nursing from Rutgers University, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her certification as an MS Certified Nurse, then obtained her Nurse Practitioner degree and specialized in the care of people living with MS and other complex neurological conditions. She returned to academia and obtained her PhD at VCU, researching the genetics and the epigenetics underlying sex differences in persons living with MS. She has served as the Chief Scientific Officer the Accelerated Cure Project since 2024.

In addition to her many accomplishments, Stephanie has been involved with organizations including iConquerMS, the National MS Society, and Can Do MS. As an MS activist and District Activist Leader, she works tirelessly to increase MS awareness, lobby for research funding, and advocate for important legislation at the State and national levels.
