Ryan Canissario
Ryan Canissario, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the neuroimmunology-MS division at the VCU Department of Neurology.

Dr. Canissario is a fellowship trained Neuroimmunologist specializing in the care of individuals with multiple sclerosis. Dr. Canissario received his undergraduate degree with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from Cornell University and his post-baccalaureate in Pre-Med from Columbia University. He received his M.D. from the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center, then completed his Residency in Neurology at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, where he served as a Chief Resident. He completed his fellowships in Neuroimmunology and Experimental Therapeutics at the University of Rochester.

Dr. Canissario is an attending physician at the VCU Health Neuroimmunology Clinic and is a principal investigator and co-investigator on a number of clinical studies including the Ocrelizumab Discontinuation in Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis (AMS05), NCT05285891
